Advertising Degrees

Advertising is part of the chain involved in creating and selling goods to individuals and companies. The other links in the chain include promotions, marketing, sales, and public relations. Once the marketing team has done its work in researching products and segmenting potential customers, advertising professionals work at ways of getting the products seen by the consumer. For the well-qualified professional, working in advertising can be fascinating and very well paid. However it involves hard work, dedication and creativity.

Advertising degrees
Advertising offers careers for those skilled with words, images and audio-visual technology, along with a dose of business sense. While marketing professionals often have a degree in marketing or business, advertising professionals come from such diverse backgrounds as psychology, the liberal arts, journalism or philosophy. Add an advertising degree to your qualifications in graphic design, art, journalism or IT and you should be in an excellent position to go far in advertising. Your advertising degree should cover the following areas:

• marketing
• consumer behavior
• market research
• sales
• communication methods and technology
• visual communication.

You can even pursue an advertising degree online while you work.
